Avalon Stitchers (formerly known as Avalon Embroiderers' Guild) is an independent stitch group formed following the decision of the Embroiderers' Guild to no longer have a branch network.
We usually meet in Ashcott Village Hall which is between Street and Bridgwater, on the fourth Saturday of each month between 10.00am and 4.00pm. (see Workshop Programme and Special Events for details of what is on).
We are a friendly group who welcome all new members and visitors, regardless of your level of experience or areas of interest.
We strive to offer a varied workshop programme, to meet the needs and interests of our members, ranging from traditional hand embroidery through to machine embroidery and textile art.
We have an extensive library of stitching and design books for members to borrow, and we usually have a sales table and a raffle at our monthly meetings.
Please look at the Gallery where you will find photographs of current work we are doing. This includes work for our next exhibition which we hope will be at Wells Museum in October.
All meetings are held in Ashcott Village Hall, High Street, Ashcott, TA7 9PZ. See How To Find Us for a map.
Most member take a packed lunch but a few go to the "Ring O'Bells" for a pub lunch (within walking distance of the hall). Tea and coffee are available all day.
Please contact us for more details, using the form on the "MORE" tab, or just come along and you will be made most welcome.
