Avalon exhibition 2025 group project
At the January meeting Sue A introduced the group project for our exhibition in October 2025.
All members are invited to take part and stitch a piece with the theme “Holiday Memories”.
The piece must be mounted and presented in the square white frame provided (frames available at meetings if you missed January), work to be 6” square.
Please use the mount provided in the frame (please don’t use another mount. You can use the glass or not depending on the nature of your finished work, but please do not seal the back of frame (only use the clips on the frame).
Your work could feature people, places, fact or fantasy, emotions evoked, current or past, any colour scheme, any stitching technique, and it could be representational or abstract!
This is a broad theme so use your creativity to make a personal masterpiece.
Sue suggests that you “audition” your work as you progress, by holding it behind the mount.
Please give your work a title and put your name on a label on the back.
The work needs be completed in time for the exhibition, but we’ll have a check in during the June meeting to see how it’s going.
If you are really keen, you can ask for a second frame to stitch another piece!

Date for your 2025 diary!
Avalon Stitchers exhibition 11 - 18 October 2025 in Wells Museum.
The theme will be "Memories through Stitch" and we will be participating in some groups projects along this theme.
You will be able to submit other work that doesn't necessarily fit the theme, preferably stitched within the 2 years since the 2023 exhibition as well as work not previously exhibited.
Your work doesn't have to be finished as we are keen to show how work progresses, and we are hoping to have a project on display that visitor can add some stitches themselves.
